What is Partial Hospitalization Program? (PHP)
Partial Hospitalization Program, or PHP, is a form of treatment designed to immerse individuals in a recovery environment and address their needs holistically using evidenced based practices. At Brighter Start Health, this service is intended for individuals 18 years of age and older with a primary substance use disorder. Co-occurring mental health disorders may also be present and addressed concurrently while in this enhanced level of care.
Individuals recommended for PHP are in need of daily monitoring and can expect to attend this treatment service Monday through Friday. Length of treatment is between 4 and 16 weeks depending on individual progress towards treatment goals. PHP is offered in-person and individuals have the choice of attending the morning group from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm or the evening group from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
PHP services at Brighter Start Health includes a structured program consisting of, but not limited to, the following services:
Assessments and Professional Evaluations
These include assessments of current substance abuse, co-occurring mental health disorders, co-occurring medical conditions, and psycho-social conditions.
Daily Group Therapy
An integral part of treatment is to provide patients with a solid psychoeducation program that helps them understand how substance use disorders are currently conceptualized. The program also teaches patients about basic neurobiological mechanisms of substance abuse and relapse prevention.
Individual Therapy
Counseling Services are provided by board certified and licensed clinicians specializing in co-occurring disorders, EMDR, and Family Therapy.
Family Therapy
PHP provides opportunities for family and peers to become involved in treatment if appropriate. Family support and family participation are important in successful recovery for any substance use disorder.
Case Management
These services include things like assistance with sober living, job placement, education, mentoring, and social support groups.
Medication Management
Individuals have access to medications for any co-occurring mental health conditions, medical conditions, withdrawal management, and craving control management.
Yoga
These professionally led weekly classes are a wonderful way to heal emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. They are designed for individuals to explore and connect with their body, mind, heart and soul.
Partial hospitalization drug and alcohol programs are often considered the ideal bridge between inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment. Part of their objective is to provide targeted and regimented care while allowing patients to live independently.
